If you or someone you know is suffering repeatedly from night sweats, then all of the reasons for them given by MedicineNet may be important. Last week on the blog we discussed reasons 1 and 2 out of a total of 8. Today we're addressing reason 3, Infection, and reason 4, Cancer.
Both of these are big topics when it comes to people who have Fibromyalgia (FMS) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS or CFIDS).
Infection is often a big part of illness, particularly CFS and FMS. (Note: Sometimes people with Fibromyalgia don't have overt symptoms of bacterial and viral infections, but they do exhibit explicit characteristics of autoimmune illness. Often this hints that more than one illness is going on.)
People with Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS) are often called PWCs. They readily acknowledge how prone they are to infections and complicated sickness.
New information is coming forth all the time about the nature of these illnesses. Much of it should be published in coming months by the world's scientists and researchers.
*As an ELT Practitioner, I recognize the following: (There are others.)
- bacteria
- viruses
- lipid-coated viruses
- cell-wall deficient organisms
- mycoplasmas
- yeast, mold and fungi
Any and all of them can disrupt the body and cause the Immune System to produce some very nasty symptoms like night sweats.
Cancer is listed as a reason for night sweats. According to MedicineNet, the normal culprit is Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, which begins in Immune System cells. To me, that makes a lot of sense, however, only a limited number of people get cancer when they have either FMS or CFS. It is not a hallmark symptom itself.
Other symptoms of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma include weight loss, fever, coughing, trouble breathing, chest pain, weakness, tiredness that doesn't go away, pain, swelling and fullness in the abdomen.
Since these are quite similar to what FMS and CFS patients experience, it is wise to get cancer checked out and off your list, if you're concerned. I'm not trying to alarm anyone, but you need to know the medical facts and statistics.
Infections and cancer are reasons 3 and 4 on this list of causes of night sweats. Tune back in on September 1st to read about reasons 5 and 6.
Now... don't worry. Just be vigilent and wise. There are more answers than we know about and new truths dawning everyday. You are living proof of that!
All my best and thanks,
