Listed at Medicinenet.com are 8 Causes of Night Sweats. Some of them impact people with Fibromyalgia (FMS) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) in a big way.
Cause #1, Menopause: We all know that being in menopause can cause some wham-doozy sweating. For those of us who already have sleeping difficulties, night sweats can be the worst symptom, seemingly aggravating every other problem.
I believe that night sweats in FMS and CFS people often come from multi-causes. The body is weak, in pain and probably off-kilter in the Endocrine and Hormonal body systems. Those are possibilities worth checking out.
On a personal note, when I was younger than 40 but coming down with bad cases of FMS and CFS, I had night sweats that competed with any menopausal woman. I could tell you some horrow stories! Later when I went through the real thing, it wasn't as bad as what I'd already gone through.
Cause #2, Idiopathic Hyperhidrosis: A condition where the body produces too much sweat to be normal, but no one can determine the cause. I'm not aware that this is a problem for "us," but there's always a first time.
If you suffer from 2) Menopause, or 2) Idiopathic Hyperhidrosis, let us hear from you. Surely something you've experienced may help someone else- or- maybe we can find you an answer that you didn't have before. We invite you to participate.
