If patience is a virtue, what is impatience? For most of us, it's how we view everything that doesn't suit us this very minute, including how and when we get well from conditions like Fibromyalgia (FMS) or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Plus we tend to be impatient if we don't have the means (mechanism/ faciltiy/ method) to get well.
A general example of impatience might be losing the weight we gained from the last holiday season. We want it gone yesterday! But the additional weight usually didn't come as a result of a few splurges. It arrived after attending multiple holiday parties and eating extravagant meals--or--it came after snacking incredibly festive munchies over a period of a month or two or three!
For us people who want to get well and feel better from FMS or CFS, getting well quickly is our top goal. We want to get on with our lives!
We all like to think that we have patience, because that makes us a well-rounded, balanced person. But, the truth be told, we want cures to take effect virtually instantaneously, correct? You know it is.
If that sounds like you, be sure to tune in to the Health Matters Show tomorrow July 4, 2008, where we'll talk about the value and danger from drugs and the medical industry itself.
Consider that if regular, traditional, western-style medicine is your first line of defense when you get ill, it may be time to re-think your strategy. It may be time to re-evaluate
- 1) what and who you know and listen to,
- 2) what you depend upon to help you and
- 3) exactly how you want to accomplish this very personal and critical goal of getting well.
I hope you can join us tomorrow!
Thank you, Cinda Crawford, host of the Health Matters Show
