This interview struck me as being real. I liked it. I'm going to dig out my heating pad. If someone could tell me what a sock buddy is I'd appreciate it.
I've been reading the posts for a couple of weeks now and even joined the Get Well Community. So far the info is darned good. Some of it I never heard before. You suggested I try yoga. I think it's helping.
Thanks. I'm out here and I'm going to keep on reading!

Cinda, thank you so very much for interviewing me. We had so much fun talking about a difficult topic ~ coping with the real pain of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Myofascial Pain Syndrome, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I pray that what I shared was beneficial to someone in the listening audience, and that those people will, in turn, share their experience, strength, and hope to others through this blog.

Susan, I wanted to respond to you about the "sock buddy." A sock buddy is made simply by taking a sock snd filling it with rice. Tie the top of the sock in a knot and then pop it in the microwave for about 2 minutes. The sock becomes a mini heating pad to apply over hurting muscles!

Hi Susan,
Anne gave you good info on constructing a sock buddy. It's really that easy. Someone kidded me and said, "make sure the sock is clean...." Silly, I guess, but true.
A couple of add-ons you might try if you like.... 1) Perk up your rice before you put it in the sock with essential oil of lavender or something soothing. 2) Decorate your sock buddy with a cute face, some fancy ribbons or such.
Have fun and enjoy. *One nice thing about a sock buddy is the weight of the rice. It's not too heavy to use over your eyes and face (i.e. if you cool it instead to use when you have a headache)- and - yet - it's heavy enough to feel the warmth on your neck and shoulders.
*If anyone else has some good tips or ideas of how to make a sock buddy more useful and fun, chime in. ;-))
Thanks, Cinda
