On the Health Matters Show today we're presenting information about a different concept for you if you're new to the subject of energy medicine: cellular memory.
We'll also address why it's important to you and your health and where you can read more about it. One of my favorite books on cellular memory is written by Candace B. Pert, Ph.D. She is a true pioneer in the field of cellular memory. In 1979 she was an original researcher and discoverer of the opiate factors in the brain, however sadly, Dr. Pert was not nominated for the Nobel Peace prize like the other people involved with the project. In 1999 she wrote about her discovery and the industry-standard, hallmark work on cellular memory entitled, "Molecules of Emotion: The Science Behind Mind-Body Medicine."
(7 minutes, 52 seconds)
Her research in opiate receptors in the brain and cellular memory made her famous. (You can get a copy of Dr. Pert's book, Molecules of Emotion, and her 2006 CD, Psychosomatic Wellness in the Cinda Recommends section of the Health Matters Show website. If you're sick and want to gain a better understanding of how you got that way, it makes sense to go ahead and get a copy.)
Another important book about cellular memory is "Cellular Wisdom: Decoding The Body's Secret Language," by Joan C. King, Ph.D. (2004 edition). The text and principles are very reader-friendly to anyone who lacks a scientific background. Listen to one of Joan's phenomenal passages from page 10:
We have come to understand that physical illnesses often have messages for us. In fact, our thoughts and emotions affect our health and the way our bodies function.Wow... is that powerful or what?
Yes, somewhere deep inside us, we all know that events in our lives have the capacity of affect us. Sometimes that effect can come long after the event is over! They become a part of us, literally, thus the term, cellular memory.
Feel free to join in in the blog discussion about cellular memory and how the body can fail us. Put "cellular memory" in the Health Matters Show search engine.
Okay, one more question, "What role does energy play in me getting well and what does that have to do with my cellular memory?"
It's a bit too much to go over the entire discussion here because this type of thing is better listened to with all the senses in play, but I want you to have all the information. Click on the MP3 version of the podcast and catch the suggested meditation, learn how to proceed in self-studying your own cellular memory and the secret power that we all possess that enables us to become more aware of our bodies and our world. You'll be the stronger for it.
And consider one more fact-- you're not an island in this sickness of yours. As you interact with your world, it interacts with you. This is human experience meets universal source energy. What we put forth is out there in the world. Others can use in a positive way or be harmed by it.
Let's make one resolution for the month of May 2008: determine to only put out the good stuff... kind of like putting out the good linens and china for company. If we are to have the life and health that we want, we must think about what we're offering to the world, and therefore, what we're attracting into our lives.
This is a good, first step toward getting in touch with our true, cellular memories and learning about and not fearing our past. Realize that everyday we lay down a life-track of how we want our present and future to go. By consciously giving these areas in our lives such special attention, we are drawing our own life and health maps!
Take time to check out the books and CD on cellular memory listed on the home page and remember to give yourself that gift of quiet time to get in touch with who you are.
